Activity Assay

Determined by its ability to induce apoptosis in HeLa cells.


Briefly centrifuge the vial before opening. It is recommended to reconstitute the protein in sterile PBS containing 0.1% endotoxin-free recombinant human serum albumin.

Stability & Storage

Use a manual defrost freezer and avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles. In general: 12 months from date of receipt, -20 to -80°C as supplied. 1 month, 2 to 8°C under sterile conditions after reconstitution. 3 months, -20 to -80°C under sterile conditions after reconstitution.

Protein Description

IFN-γ is an acid-labile interferon produced by Th1, cytotoxic T cells, NKT cells and NK cells. Interferon gamma (IFNγ) is a dimerized soluble cytokine that is the type II class of interferons.IFN-γ signaling in antigen-presenting cells, and antigenrecognizing B and T lymphocytes, regulates the antigen-specific phases of the immune response. IFNγ is critical for innate and adaptive immunity against viral, protozoal, bacterial infections. It also exhibits antiviral, antiproliferative, and apoptotic effects. IFNγ is particularly suitable for human CIK activation along with IL-2.
