Description

Color Prestained Protein Marker (10~180 kDa) is a tri-color, ready-to-use protein molecular weight standard containing 10 proteins spanning 10–180 kDa. After SDS-PAGE or Western blot transfer, clear colored bands are observed: the 70 kDa band is red, the 10 kDa band is green, and the remaining 8 bands are blue.

Each band is present at ~0.1–0.4 mg/ml, providing consistent visualization for molecular weight estimation during electrophoresis and transfer.

Protocol

Thaw marker at room temperature; mix gently. Do not heat, dilute, or add reducing agents.
For SDS-PAGE: load 5 μl per well (0.75–1.0 mm mini-gels). For Western blot: load 2–3 μl per lane. For thick gels (≥1.5 mm) or large-format gels, increase loading volume.
Run alongside samples on SDS-PAGE and visualize bands after electrophoresis or transfer.

Molecular Weight Guide

Standard proteins are covalently linked to dyes. Migration may vary with gel concentration and buffer system. Refer to the supplied table for apparent molecular weights under different electrophoresis conditions.

Notice

Avoid repeated freeze–thaw cycles; aliquot before storage.
Gel concentration affects separation. For low MW proteins (<25 kDa), use 15% gels for optimal resolution.
Compatible with PVDF, nylon, and cellulose acetate membranes. Adjust transfer time/voltage for high-MW proteins.
Do not exceed 0.02–0.04% SDS in transfer buffer.
Contains small amounts of DTT. Use PPE when handling.
