Description

Color Prestained Protein Marker (8~250 kDa) is a tri-color pre-stained molecular weight standard containing 11 proteins spanning 8–250 kDa. After SDS-PAGE or Western blot transfer, distinct colored bands are visible: the 72 kDa band is orange-red, the 8 kDa band is green, and the remaining 9 bands are blue.

Protocol

1. Thaw marker at room temperature; mix gently. Do not heat, dilute, or add reducing agents.
2. Load 5–10 μl per lane (5 μl typically sufficient for 5×1.5 mm wells).
3. Run alongside samples on SDS-PAGE and visualize bands after electrophoresis or transfer.

Molecular Weight Guide

Protein bands are covalently linked to dyes. Migration varies slightly with gel type and buffer system. Refer to the table in the datasheet for apparent molecular weights under different conditions.

Notice

• Avoid repeated freeze–thaw cycles; aliquot before storage.
• Gel concentration affects separation efficiency. In low % gels (<8%), low-MW proteins migrate faster than the dye.
• Compatible with PVDF, nylon, and cellulose acetate membranes. Adjust transfer time/voltage for high-MW proteins in Western blot.
• Do not exceed SDS concentration of 0.02–0.04% in transfer buffer.
• Contains small amounts of DTT. Wear lab coat and gloves when handling.
