Description
Tris-Glycine (TG) appears as white to pale yellow instant granules. Each pouch makes 1 L of 1× TG buffer, easy to prepare and convenient to use. The concentration in 1× TG is 25 mM Tris and 192 mM glycine.
- Commonly used for rapid Western blotting (wet transfer with 20% ethanol).
- Also used for non-denaturing protein polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis buffer preparation.
Method
- Add ~600 ml distilled water and a magnetic stir bar into a beaker.
- While stirring, slowly add the contents of one pouch of TG; mix until fully dissolved.
- Add distilled water to bring the final volume to 1 L → 1× solution is ready.
