Description
Tris-Glycine-SDS (TGS) appears as white to pale yellow instant granules. Each pouch makes 1 L of 1× TGS buffer (25 mM Tris, 192 mM glycine, 0.1% SDS) conveniently with a simple procedure. TGS buffer is widely used as a running buffer for SDS-PAGE electrophoresis.
Method
- Add ~600 ml distilled water and a magnetic stir bar into a clean beaker.
- While stirring, slowly add the contents of one pouch of TGS; mix until fully dissolved.
- Add distilled water to bring the total volume to 1 L → 1× solution is ready to use.
