Activity Assay
The activity was measured by its ability to stimulate the proliferation of CTLL-2 cells cells.
Reconstitution
Briefly centrifuge the vial before opening. It is recommended to reconstitute the protein in sterile PBS containing 0.1% endotoxin-free recombinant human serum albumin.
Stability & Storage
Use a manual defrost freezer and avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles. In general: 12 months from date of receipt, -20 to -80°C as supplied. 1 month, 2 to 8°C under sterile conditions after reconstitution. 3 months, -20 to -80°C under sterile conditions after reconstitution.
Protein Description
Interleukin-15 (IL-15) is a T-cells growth factor, together with G-CSF, GM-CSF, IL-2, IL-4, IL-7, and IL-9, IL-15 belongs to the four α-helix bundle family of cytokine. IL-15 stimulates cell proliferation and activation of natural killer (NK) cells and T cells. CD8+ memory T cell number is controlled by a balance between IL-15 and IL-2. It plays an important role in both innate and adaptive immunity system.
